School Advisory Council

The School Advisory Council (SAC) is a school-based group intended to represent the school, the community, and the people closest to the students that shares the responsibility for supporting the school's continuous improvement. If you would like to get acclimated with the purpose, goals and duties of SAC membership, please review the SAC bylaws.

The SAC is responsible for final decision-making at the school relating to the annual implementation of a Schoolwide Improvement Plan (SIP). The SAC assists in the annual preparation of both the SIP and the school's annual budget, as well as the evaluation of the SIP.
 
The SAC should be composed of the principal and an appropriately balanced number of teachers, education support employees, students, parents, citizens and businesses who represent the ethnic, racial, and economic community served by the school. Parents are encouraged to join the School Advisory Council. If you are interested in becoming a member of our SAC this school year, please contact the SAC Advisor Stacia Collier, Assistant Principal at BTMS, at 386-446-6700. You may also submit the SAC Information Form to request information, or ask questions about meetings.

Meetings
The SAC meets four times a year (or more) with the Principal and SAC Chair. Attendance at SAC meetings is extremely important and all parents and community members are invited to attend. Meetings will be held in person at 5:00pm in the Buddy Taylor Middle School Branch (Media Center). Please see the schedule for the 2021–2022 school year below.
